Andrews AFB Ambulatory Care Center and Dental Clinic Replacement
Joint Base Andrews, Maryland
- Andrews AFB Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) is a fully sprinklered 172,000 ± sq. ft., four story facility of Type IB construction with a three story pedestrian walkway leading to a four tier open parking garage of Type IIB construction, and a one story pedestrian walkway connecting the new building to an existing one. The project also included a one story Central Energy Plant of Type IIB construction.
- The ACC is a single Business/Ambulatory Care occupancy with storage and assembly accessory occupancies.
- The clinic was designed under the 2009 Life Safety Code, 2009 International Building Code and relevant DOD Unified Facilities Criteria.
- The Dental Clinic is a new fully sprinklered two story, 31,450 ± sq. ft. facility of Type IIB unprotected non-combustible construction with a mechanical penthouse.
- The Dental Clinic is a single business occupancy with an accessory storage occupancy.
The clinic was designed under the 2009 Life Safety Code, 2009 International Building Code and relevant DOD Unified Facilities Criteria.

Veterans Affairs Medical Center
Orlando, Florida

Construction
- The 31,000 sq. ft., 3
story Domiciliary is sprinklered throughout with several smoke zones. The
47,000 sq. ft., single story Central Energy Plant is sprinklered
throughout and houses the diesel generator that severes the hospital and
clinic. The 633,000 sq. ft., 4 tier Parking Garage is an unlimited area
open parking structure. The 963,000 sq. ft., 4 story Hopsital and Clinic
is fully sprinklered throughout with a four story atrium between the
hospital and clinic portions of the building. The 109,000 sq. ft. Nursing
Home composes of three fully sprinklered residentail pods with covered
pedestrian walkways connecting them. The 56,000 sq. ft., 2 story Warehouse
is sprinklred throughout with a two story atrium, a environmentally
hazardous storage room, a flammable storage room and is connected to the
hospital via a covered pedestrian walkway.

Fort Irwin Replacement Hospital
Fort Irwin, CA
- The hospital replacement is a fully sprinklered four story, 221,000 ± sq. ft. hospital/clinic of Type IB protected, non-combustible construction with a mechanical penthouse. In addition to the hospital, the project included a one story Central Energy Plant of Type IIB unprotected non-combustible construction and renovations to the single-story, 30,000 ± sq. ft. Mary Walker Clinic.
- The hospital/clinic has three major use groups, Hospital/ Health Care, Business and Storage with one accessory use group, Assembly, which creates a mixed occupancy classification for the hospital/clinic.
- The hospital/clinic was designed under the 2009 Life Safety Code, 2009 International Building Code and relevant DOD Unified Facilities Criteria.
