• This was a code / safety evaluation of the existing facility to be a part of a comprehensive building evaluation and master plan.
• 540,000 sq. ft. - 4 stories
• Mixed Occupancy, A-3 Museum, Business / Offices, Theater, Auditorium and Storage
• BOCA National Building Code, Type IB Construction
• The Detroit Institute of Arts is a 1927 vintage building with two major additions added in 1966 (south wing) and 1971 (north wing) . The facility has a working theater with 1,040 seats, unprotected vertical openings, open stairs and is partially sprinklered.
• Lovett Consultants provided a detailed safety evaluation of the facility, and provided a corresponding report indicating possible actions to improve the building and occupant safety. The work involved general consulting and detailed exit analysis of the theater.

smoke control testing and final commissioning report for the original construction of the multi-area, 20,000 + seats arena.

Recently LCI prepared  an exit sign evaluation including light meter readings & Alternate Materials & Methods Report.

Jackson County Public Library
Sylva, NC

The new Jackson County Public Library Complex is in the renovated and expanded historic courthouse in downtown Sylva, NC.

Lovett Consultants performed hydraulic calculations and designed wet and dry sprinkler systems for the new library, including spray sprinkler protection of glass transoms, vertical openings, and cupola.
